Leadership

Chris Coghlan Co-founder

Chris leads global business development with a goal to uncover the best opportunities for his team to apply their craft. He brings strong marketing, product, and digital thought leadership to Apply.

Before Apply, Chris was co-founder/CEO of Blitzoo Interactive, a digital product development firm that was acquired in February 2016. Prior to that, Chris was EVP Client Development for Blast Radius where he helped forge long-term partnerships with some of the world's strongest brands.

Chris’ proudest accomplishment is being part of the management team at Blast Radius that was awarded one of Canada’s 50 Best Managed Private Companies five years in a row. His goal is to see Apply make this list.

Scott Michaels Chief Strategist, Partner

Scott guides the strategic direction for all digital products at Apply to help clients to solve even the most difficult of challenges. Having created more than 150 products for his clients, Scott has developed a reputation for achieving remarkable ROIs that propel companies to new growth.

Scott has a love for all things mobile. He has been at the forefront of many digital revolutions–being a part of the first iPhone launch, working closely with the New York Times to create the first native applications, and helping ESPN in its mandate for mobile first. Scott knows what it takes to make successful applications, especially when working in the vanguard of what is currently possible.

Scott inspires others to do their best work. He is mentor for the Disney Accelerator, as well as the Sprint Accelerator, powered by TechStars.

Gautam Lohia Co-founder

Gautam oversees client management and operations at Apply. He loves building technologies, teams, and partnerships. As a passionate but soft-spoken leader, Gautam is always ready to roll up his sleeves to guide his team through the most challenging situations.

Gautam believes successful products focus on providing results rather than features. He also co-founded QuickMobile, an industry leader in delivering mobile event platform.

Prior to starting Apply, he was instrumental in growing Blast Radius from a Vancouver-based digital agency to a global marketing firm as the Chief Technology Officer and EVP of Delivery. Working closely with high-profile clients and overseeing staff worldwide, Gautam was responsible for global operations, client management, and technology strategy.

Elaine Coopersmith Product Management Lead

Elaine heads up the Product Management practice at Apply. She ensures that product strategy is defined by viable and prioritized feature sets, that the integrity of the vision is maintained throughout the product life cycle, and that learnings are used to continuously improve the products that we design & build.

She has over 16 years of experience in product management, requirements management, and process re-engineering. Having successfully shipped countless platforms, products and business applications, she has a truly unique mix of experience coming from the food-tech start up space, digital agency, financial services, and management consulting.

Elaine is passionate about finding creative solutions to solve difficult problems, and delivering measurable value to customers and businesses.

Ray Silva Strategy Lead

Ray sits at the intersection of business strategy and technology; Balancing the best of consulting, design thinking and customer insights to craft breakthrough strategy for our partner’s and their products.

With an insatiable curiosity, Ray rigorously uncovers opportunity spaces, inspires empathy among teams and arms solutions with the thinking needed to drive long-term ROI. This all powers his aim to enrich modern culture, challenge traditional business thinking and unlock the potential of today’s products and services.

Prior to joining Apply, Ray lead SapientNitro Nordic’s Strategy team; Helping empower global clients and their customer experience portfolios.

Andrea Moretti Technology Lead

Andrea is responsible for defining the technical architecture, and choosing technologies and frameworks best suited for each project. With a knack for frontend development, he leads a team of developers to ensure the best practices in coding for all digital products at Apply.

Andrea finds enterprise web applications are often bounded by obsolete technologies that deliver sub-par experiences. With his experience in building mobile apps and web applications, Andrea wants to help companies select the right technologies to create solutions that make people’s work more productive and enjoyable.

Prior to Apply, Andrea co-founded Bbox communication, where he managed R&D, graphic design, and web development for nine years in Italy.

Colleen Bin Head Of People Operations

Known for her compassionate spirit, Colleen specializes in making sure employees are happy and productive. Responsible for recruiting, training, and career development, she is always in search for wonderfully talented people to become a part of the Apply team.

By supporting the team members at Apply, Colleen gets to see how creative minds solve complicated challenges to create digital products that make a difference. She loves the energy, focus, and camaraderie she sees in the team members at Apply. Her priority is to create an environment that continually fosters a constant flow of creativity and innovation.

Prior to Apply, Colleen brings 10 years of HR experience working at Blast Radius and Cactus Restaurants Ltd.

Wells Stringham UX Lead

Wells has dedicated his career to understanding the needs of the user. At the core, he is a problem solver. His work focuses on championing the user’s needs, while balancing the client’s business goals and technical constraints. Research, experimentation, and validation are the cornerstones of his process that allow him to craft tools people actually want to use.

Wells is involved in all phases of projects–from strategy, design, to development. His mission is to ensure the final product looks, feels, and acts the way users would love to experience. He believes the best product experiences are those that help people achieve their goals effortlessly.

Wells currently serves as an Industry Mentor at the Vancouver Film School.

Mauricio Pommella Design Lead

Mauricio provides creative direction to the digital product development process, translating the client's vision into engaging experiences through design. For more than 20 years, his work had been featured across print, video games, web, and mobile. Mauricio is meticulous in how every design decisions influence the way customers interact with products.

He believes digital products with simple interfaces have the most potential to change people’s lives–and entire communities–by delivering faster and better solutions. Working at Apply, Mauricio wants to be part of the transformation.

Mauricio actively contributes to the design community serving as a juror for international festivals including The New York Festivals, London international Awards, and Applied Arts Magazine Interactive awards.

Claudia Ng Project Lead

Claudia manages all aspects of client projects down to every single detail–from timelines to budgets, team sourcing to delivery. Claudia doesn’t consider a project a success until she sees measurable results.

With 25+ years of experience in project management, she has a track record for successfully delivering projects of all sizes and levels of complexity. With her background in engineering and business, she has a deep understanding of the challenges her clients’ experience in digital product development.

Claudia is a well recognized by her peers for her talent and dedication. Some of her accolades include Business in Vancouver Top 40 Under 40 and Women’s Executive Network Top 100 Most Powerful Women Award Recipient.
